ABOUT US

The Peace Pregnancy Support Centre (PPSC) is a Christian, faith-based charitable organization located in Dawson Creek, BC.

At the PPSC, we envision a community where all those facing an unplanned, challenging or lost pregnancy can find hope and healing.

We believe that “where there’s help, there’s hope” and all support will be offered to clients at no cost regardless of their race, religion, creed, national origin, age, gender, sexuality or lifestyle.

We are Pro-Woman, Pro-info, Pro-Family

This means support is available for women at every stage of their journey—before, during, and after pregnancy, regardless of outcome. When a client's pregnancy test is negative, we offer educational resources focusing on fostering healthy relationships. During pregnancy, women are respectfully extended valuable, accurate, up to date information and assistance through prenatal education, as well as access to free baby supplies. After pregnancy, we offer a nurturing and secure community, aiming to provide options such as parenting classes or support groups for those who have experienced pregnancy loss or abortion.
Men and family members are considered separate clients and are given the same safe space to sort through their questions, concerns, grief, or other stressors.
This Centre is entirely client led in regards to what support and information is offered. Each client is compassionately cared for as a unique individual with specific and distinct needs.

The PPSC is overseen by the Peace Pregnancy Support Society (PPSS) Board of Directors, and are privileged to be affiliated with Pregnancy Care Canada (PCC). Through an annual fee process, the PCC provides training, resources, and support, access to online training modules for Centre staff, board, and volunteers, along with recurrent training seminars. These resources enable us to provide consistent standards and quality of care.

That being said, our affiliation with them in NO WAY suggests that PCC endorses us, our products or services, or that the editorial content on our site has been authored by, or represents the view or opinions of, Pregnancy Care Canada. We are a completely separate entity.

All our services are free and confidential.

PPSC Mission and Vision

We strive to make our Centre a safe place that offers compassionate support and accurate information on pregnancy options, sexual health, and post-abortion care.

In a time of crisis or grief, the PPSC provides its clients with ongoing emotional and practical assistance while ensuring their awareness of pregnancy, adoption and parenting support services already available.  We will also seek to offer services and care where gaps in support currently exist – for example, in pregnancy loss support (including miscarriage, neonatal death and post-abortion) and in sexual risk-avoidance education for youth.

While not a medical clinic or health care facility, this unique Christian ministry offers a local helpline, free pregnancy tests, individual or group grief support, confidential options counseling, community referrals, and practical material resources to all those in need.

In Loving Memory...

In late 2021, the Peace Pregnancy Support Centre underwent the devastating loss of our dear friend and Executive Director, Susan Stagg.

Susan's leadership and passion for this special ministry left a lasting mark on our community and all those who interacted with her. In the challenging time since her passing, along with the conditions surrounding the Covid pandemic, the Board found her shoes to be difficult ones to fill.

In 2023, armed with renewed enthusiasm and energy, and by the grace of God, our updated Board of Directors successfully secured an Executive Director and Administrative Assistant to re-launch this important community ministry.

We re-opened on Feb 14, 2024 and are so thankful to be serving our community once again. We ask for your prayers and continued support as we rebuild and continue on the good work that God started here and that we know Susan would certainly hope to see continue and grow.
